Internet Filtering and Parental Controls for iPhones

05.20.10
Keeping parental controls and internet content filtering up with the times is a uphill battle, but it's a battle that developers are fighting, thankfully.  As new technology and new avenues of accessing web content are developed, new controls and filtering methods must be developed to block access to harmful and objectionable content.  And this has certainly been the case for the iPhone.

Now that more and more parents are buying iPhones for their children, the need has arisen to protect children from content that is all too easy to access.  A solution that we have found and recommend is Mobicip, a content-filtering web browser that you can purchase from the Apple's App Store.  Mobicip blocks objectionable content and gives you several options for monitoring and customizing permissions to meet your specific needs.

The browser costs $4.99, and a premium service subscription, which allows you the most control and oversight of your child's mobile browsing, is available for $9.99 a year.  Mobicip is also available for iPod Touch, iPad, and netbooks.

You can find instructions on how to implement Mobicip as well as set your child's iPhone's parental settings here.  And, of course, we would be happy to help you set up your iPhone(s) with Mobicip.  Just give us a call!
